Overview of Pre-Market Trading at Webull
If you’re waiting until 9:30 in the morning to place trades at Webull, you’re really missing out. The brokerage house offers an early-morning trading session that starts at 4:00 am, New York time, and runs until the opening bell. This is 5½ hours of extra trading time, so it’s worth looking into.
Cost of 4:00 AM Pre-Market Trading
Webull charges nothing extra for pre-market trades. This means most orders of U.S.-listed securities will cost nothing. There are a few exceptions on Webull’s commission schedule (for example, index options and OTC securities).

Enabling 4:00 AM Pre-Market Trading
There’s nothing to do on the Webull platform to enable early-morning trading. It’s already installed.
Charting Extended Hours
On all three platforms at Webull (mobile app, desktop platform, and web browser), it’s possible to adjust graph settings so that price action in the early morning (and after-hours period) shows up.
On the desktop system, click on the “Ext.” button in the bottom-right corner of a graph to display extended-hours price action, which will be shaded in gray. Pre-market trading hours are part of extended hours.
On the mobile app, tap on the menu icon (represented by 4 squares) and select Settings from the pop-up list. On the Settings page, scroll down to the link to turn on extended hours.
On the web-browser platform, click on the gear icon in the upper-right corner of a chart and put a check mark in the box to show extended hours.
Placing a 4:00 AM Pre-Market Trade
Once you’ve done your research and have the right chart pulled up, it’s time to place a trade. On the mobile app, head to a security’s profile by tapping on a watchlist entry or performing a search using the magnifying glass at the top of the screen.
Once on the profile, tap on the Trade button in the bottom-left corner. On the trade ticket, there is a drop-down menu for Trading Hours. Go into this menu and select extended hours. This option will allow the trade to execute during the regular day session or extended hours plus the day session. It is not possible to specify extended hours or pre-market only.
On the browser platform, you’ll need to use the Classic Trade ticket in order to specify extended-hours trading. The other trade forms available on the platform, including TurboTrader and Price Ladder, do not offer extended-hours trading.
With the Classic Trade ticket pulled up and populated with the correct ticker symbol, select the appropriate side (buy, sell, or sell short) and order type (such as limit or market). There is another drop-down menu for Extended Hours. Here, you can select yes or no. Choosing yes will allow the order to execute during pre-market, after-hours, or regular trading. Selecting no will confine the order to the day session only. There is no option to select pre-market trading only.
On Webull’s desktop platform, the Classic Trade ticket doesn’t have an extended-hours selector, although it is possible to enable an order for execution during the pre-market or after-hours period. To do this, go into the Trade Settings menu (click on the icon with three horizontal bars in the upper-right corner of the Trade ticket and select Trade Settings). Here, there is a selector to turn on extended-hours execution.
