A: Senior discounts are legal. Age discrimination laws pertain only to the workplace and forbid age discrimination when it comes to any aspect of employment such as hiring, firing, pay, promotions and benefits, according to the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.

For example, according to Medicare, a senior is 65 years old or older.
