Can you colour match Little Greene paint? ›

Once you have chosen your shade, avoid the temptation to attempt a 'colour match' for paint. If the 'equivalent' colour, or 'closest match', is mixed by another brand, you really aren't getting the same high quality paint! Firstly, our colours can't be replicated using the human eye or a spectrophotometer.

Our water-based range is a low odour, environmentally friendly, low VOC paint option. These finishes require no specialist solvents or cleansers; simply rinse brushes in clean water. Additionally, we have reformulated our oil-based range using sustainable vegetable oils, without compromising on a superb finish.

Each tin contains a combination of high-quality minerals and organic raw materials, ethically sourced from local, UK-based suppliers who share our commitment to sustainability. Highly pigmented formulations give Little Greene paint superb coverage and opacity.

These ingredients are often of a higher quality than those used in other trade paints. For example, Little Greene Paints use only the finest natural pigments, such as Ultramarine, Cobalt, and Chromium Oxide, which are more expensive than synthetic pigments used in other paints.

With most paint colours, we recommend two full coats. This is especially important to achieve maximum coverage when you are undergoing a dramatic colour transformation, such as light-to-dark or dark-to-light.

How many coats of paint should I use? There are conditions specific to your project that can affect this, but we would always recommend a minimum of two coats.
