A Dragon Fruit is a rare Fruit that has a 5% chance to be grown from Farm plots by planting Seeds (or 4.75% Reign of Giants or 3.7% Shipwrecked). Dragon Fruits can also be produced by feeding a caged Bird a Dragon Fruit to receive 1-2 Dragon Fruit Seeds and a 50% chance to get a generic seed.
Dragon Fruit, along with 3 twigs, is recommended to be cooked into Dragonpie because Dragonpie restores a lot more hunger and health. Furthermore, Dragonpie is fresh longer than the time it takes Dragon Fruit to rot; Dragon Fruit should be cooked into Dragonpie the earliest possible.
Dragon Fruit is among the better crops for farming due to Dragonpie.
