A new Genshin Impact leak reveals more information about the game's file size for the upcoming Genshin Impact update 3.0.
A new Genshin Impact major update is just around the corner which means that players can expect a significant map extension in the foreseeable future. The game has officially confirmed that after Mondstadt, Liyue and Inazuma, players will have the option to explore a new major region named Sumeru.
A popular Gesnhin Impact leaker named naevis gives more information about the upcoming update claiming that the current file size for the 3.0 beta is around 43.3GB. However, it should be noted that the size does not include any voice lines.

The current 2.8 English voice pack is almost 8GB which means that the whole game file for Genshin Impact update 3.0 could be around 50GB. There is still no information about the file size for mobile devices. The game file without voice packs at the moment is around 30GB and the main reason behind such a drastic increase in file size is the fact that Version 3.0 will introduce a new major region named Sumeru. Multiple rumors have already confirmed that Sumeru will become the largest main region in the game.
Recent Genshin Impact map leaks have revealed that Sumeru will take up more space on the map than Mondstadt and Liyue combined. However, it's highly unlikely that players will be able to access to the whole region in 3.0 meaning that HoYoverse will gradually add more explorable terrain with new updates. A couple of Genshin Impact's NPCs have described Sumeru as a mysterious land filled with rainforests and deserts, and it seems like 3.0 will only include the rainforests.
A couple of fans in the comment section claim that HoYoverse should add an option for players to delete voice lines of previous quests since they won't be replaying them anytime soon. One way mobile players in Genshin Impact can save up space is by deleting and redownloading the game whenever a new update arrives. If a player simply upgrades to the new patch, the game won't delete the files limited from the previous update.
In order to save up some additional space, players can delete language packs they don't use in the game. Each voice pack contains more than 4GB of data which means that deleting two or three of those could save up some additional space. It should be noted that these Genshin Impact leaks should still be taken with a grain of salt and there is a chance that HoYoverse makes some improvements when it comes to the game's file size.
Genshin Impact is now available on mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is in development with no confirmed release date.
