How hard is the CII? ›

Pass rates here are usually in the mid-70s, which, despite it being a very tricky exam and the first written CII exam most candidates would have tackled (R01 to R05 are all multiple choice), does demonstrate that with some hard work and the support of the right training material it is very passable.

How long does it take to complete CII? ›

Specific study time guidelines are provided for each unit on its webpage and in the CII qualifications brochure. The notional Ofqual 'Total Qualification Time' for this qualification is 160 hours. This represents the time a student might typically take to complete the qualification by the shortest combination of units.

How difficult are they? The pass mark vary between the R0 exams – R01-R04 is 65%, R05 is 70% and R06 is 55%. Of the multiple-choice R0 exams, statistically R03 and R04 are the hardest.
