Risky behaviors
Consuming excessive amounts of food, leading to overweight and obesity, is one of the main risky behaviors which lead to the development of other diseases, such as cardiovascular diseases and diabetes. Other examples of risky behaviors that increase the probability of developing diseases that lower people’s quality of life and that can be potentially fatal are smoking, living a sedentary lifestyle, and the consumption of alcohol.
Eating disorder treatments
The Italian national healthcare service (NHS) operates 91 facilities treating diverse eating disorders. Emilia Romagna, the region known to deliver the best healthcare services across the country, has the highest number of such facilities.
