Mohg, also known as the Lord of Blood and the Omen, is a major antagonist and optional secret boss in the 2022 action-RPG Elden Ring. He is one of the demigod children of Godfrey and Marika, and he is the twin brother of Morgott. Both were Omen.
He was unique amongst most of the Shardbearers in the sense that he planned to uproot the Golden Order and transform the Lands Between into the Mohgwyn Dynasty. Mohg is a fanatic servant of the Formless Mother, acts as its agent and intends to spread its will across the dynasty.
He was voiced by Con O'Neill.
What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]
- While one might think he had a tragic past, as he and his twin brother Morgott were both born as Omen and banished by the Golden Order to rot in the sewers of Leyndell because of this, this does not apply as Morgott did not became as evil as Mohg, despite going through the same tragedy, and with his subsequent actions, Mohg proved to be no better, and, in many ways, even worse than the ones who ruined his life.
- Anyone who wishes to join his dynasty is tasked to slay their maiden and offer a cloth stained with her blood. An exception is made for those that are maidenless, where in their cases, any maiden would do.
- He murdered countless people, enough to make literal rivers of blood in the Mohgwyn Palace. He even instructs his followers to follow his example.
- His army also contains many Albinaurics, who Mohg himself corrupted and experimented on using Cursed Blood, effectively making them slaves. As Miquella tried to offer sanctuary to the outcasted Albinaurics, this makes his corruption of many Albinaurics a particularly vile act, as it nullifies the efforts Miquella had tried to make.
- While most of the Demigods have tragic backgrounds and are or were noble despite their flaws, Mohg stands out as the most vile and monstrous of the Demigods with no redeeming qualities. The only two Demigods who come close to him in terms of vileness are Godrick the Grafted and Praetor Rykard, Lord of Blasphemy.
- In spite of being 'charmed' and manipulated by Miquella to transport him into the Lands of Shadow, this is not a disqualifying factor as the formation of the Bloody Fingers, mass murders committed by him and his cult and the vile curse he inflicted upon his Albinauric slaves were all entirely done on his own accord.
- While it should be noted that he did work with his twin brother Morgott to seal the entrance to the Three Fingers, and had an illusion of himself, Mohg the Omen, guard the path to the Three Fingers, it wasn't done out of any noble intentions, but to prevent the Frenzied Flame from escaping and destroying the Lands Between, as Mohg wants to conquer and rule the Lands.
- It's also possible that he has no true care for any of his family members, including his parents Godfrey and Marika, and his siblings including his twin brother Morgott and his half-brother Miquella as he merely sees them all as a means to an end for his own plans.
- In spite of the high heinous standard set by the actions of the Outer Will, his demigod siblings and the numerous malicious beings in the Lands Between, Mohg manages to stand out due to his low resources and more visceral deeds.
Trivia[]
- He, alongside Godrick The Grafted, is one of the two Elden Ring villains to be Pure Evil.
