Quality and Safety
At ALDI, our teams carefully select the best products to meet all of your requests. From healthier choices, gluten-free items, along with other dietary needs and preferences, more than 90% of the products in our stores are under our exclusive brand.
Our Quality Assurance team has also developed strict guidelines in order to meet our high standards, so you can feel good about the food you buy at ALDI. It’s no wonder that every month, over 49 million people shop at ALDI for simply smarter living and to buy healthier, quality foods they’re proud to feed their family.

Our general merchandise products are evaluated to meet high standards for quality and performance in our Quality Assurance labs and independent ones.
Food
We are committed to human rights and fair labor practices throughout our supply chain and all of our suppliers must comply with the Social Standards in Production.
We put our reputation behind every product we sell in our stores in a number of ways:
- We comply with all U.S. consumer legislation and safety standards
- All of our suppliers must provide a food safety audit for the facilities that make our exclusive brands.
- These facilities must be audited under standards recognized by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI).
- We regularly sample and analyze all of our products in our Test Kitchen to ensure you're getting the best quality.
Organic Food
We proudly offer a variety of organic products within our Simply Nature line and produce department. Since 2014, we’ve added 12 organic produce items and show no signs of stopping.
All our organic food must be produced according to USDA Organic guidelines, which include, but are not limited to avoiding synthetic pesticides, artificial fertilizers, GMOs, antibiotics, growth hormones and irradiation.
We believe our organic products must protect natural resources and conserve biodiversity. Learn more about the USDA Organic Standards.
Genetically-Engineered (GE) Foods or Genetically-Modified Organisms (GMOs)
It’s important to us that our customers always have a choice of products that best suits their lifestyles and budgets.
If you’re looking to avoid genetically-engineered foods or ingredients, we offer a variety of items. Just look for our products, like our Simply Nature line, that bear the USDA Organic or Non-GMO Project Verified Seals.
Bisphenol-A (BPA)
Bisphenol-A, commonly known as BPA, is a chemical that may be found in food packaging and non-food products.
To address this concern, we are taking the following measures:
- Limiting BPA in our ALDI-exclusive brand products where possible and making good progress.
- Labeling all products that do not contain BPA with these symbols: BPA-Free Packaging and Non-BPA lining.
If you want to avoid BPA, you can confidently shop our Simply Nature and Little Journey brands. You’ll be happy to know that ALDI receipt paper is BPA-free!
Certified Synthetic Colors
While the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) considers certified synthetic colors safe for use, we’ve opted to source plant-based color ingredients, such as beet juice, paprika and turmeric.
Monosodium Glutamate (MSG)
Added MSG is an artificial flavor enhancer commonly found in savory foods. While it’s considered safe by the FDA and is naturally found in foods like tomato and cheese, we’ve elected to remove any added MSG based on our customers’ preferences.

Simply Nature
This line features nearly 200 organic products, including ALDI Finds, as well as items that avoid using GMOs. Just look for the Non-GMO seal to easily identify them.
Simply Nature does not use 127 artificial ingredients. Our products are either USDA Certified Organic or are being independently vetted for Non-GMO ingredients and can be spotted by their organic seal.
Since 2014, Simply Nature has offered everything from pantry staples (e.g., cereal, honey, fruit bars and pasta sauce) to fresh items (e.g., bread, milk, kale, salad mixes and yogurt.)

We’ve always believed in offering high-quality food at everyday low prices and specialty items are no exception. Our exclusive line of gluten-free foods includes bread, pasta, pretzels, cookies, brownie mix and granola.
These products must be certified by the following organizations to verify that each one’s gluten levels are less than 10 parts per million:
- The Gluten-Free Certification Organization (GFCO)
- Gluten-Free Certification Program (GFCP)
- Celiac Sprue Association (CSA)
Never Any!
Our Never Any! line of meat products has no antibiotics, added hormones or animal by-products. They also may be free of added nitrites or nitrates, preservatives, gluten, casein or fillers.
Earth Grown
Our Earth Grown line is completely plant-based. Made with ingredients like vegetables and hearty grains, you can rest assured that our kale, quinoa crunch burgers, chicken-less patties and tenders are certified vegetarian or vegan.
