Mitosis is a process where one cell divides to give rise to two identical daughter cells. The chromosomes are equally distributed in the two cells. After mitosis, the cells divide by a process of cytokinesis.

The cell plate grows centrifugally, from inside to out.	The cleavage proceeds centripetally, from outside to inside.
Hormones/Factors
Plant mitosis is controlled by the hormone cytokinin.	Animal mitosis is controlled by a number of factors like, EGF, PDGF, lymphokines, etc.
