1. What is soy wax and how is it different from paraffin wax?
Soy wax is a plant-based wax extracted from soy bean and is vegetarian and vegan-friendly. On the other hand, paraffin wax is a petroleum-based wax which has been refined to achieve a non-toxic, clean-burning fuel.
2. Why should I choose soy wax candles?
Soy candles are natural, renewable, biodegradable and non-toxic. It has a lower melting point and burns longer than paraffin wax.
3. What does Phthalates-free mean in fragrance oils?
Phthalates are chemical plasticizers that have been widely used to soften plastics that would otherwise be brittle and crack when bent. They are used to dissolve raw materials when making fragrance oils. The fragrance oils used by The Burning Wic are Phthalate-free.

5. What is the average burn time for soy candles?
The burn time for soy candles varies based different variables, such as wick size, fragrance and type of soy wax used. For smaller candles with smaller wicks, they burn an average 7-9 hours per ounce of wax. Larger candles have large wicks which uses more wax to burn. They burn about 5-7 hours per ounce. Basically, an 8oz candle can burn up to 40hrs (i.e. net weight of 7oz x 9 hours).
6. Why is my candle only burning down the middle?
The first burn is most important as you need to let the candle burn 3-4 hours until you have 1/2 inch melt pool. Soy waxhas a "memory" and helps to avoid thecandlefrom "tunneling" down the center of the container and may cause you not to get the best scent throw.
7. How do I clean up a soy wax spill?
Soy wax cleans up very easily with mild soap and warm water.
8. Can I get a refund if I don't like my scent?

9. Why should I keep the wick trimmed?
Keeping thewicktrimmed to 1/4 of an inch at all times helps control the amount of “fuel” or wax that is present. By keeping the amount of fuel limited, the flame will create ideal complete combustion where carbon particles are absorbed by the flame.
10. Can I reuse my jars?
Absolutely! We pour our candles into recyclableglass jarsso they can be reused. Completely burn out your candle and remove the metal wick base. Wash the glass in water and soap and Viola! Use them to store pens, pencils, cotton balls, buttons or whatever you'd like.
11. What if items are missing from my order?
If an item was missing from your order, please message us or send an email within 48hrs of receiving your order. You have the option of receiving a refund for the missing item or having it mailed to you at no additional cost.
