When a young lady wanted to lay claim to one of her suitors, she would pluck a flower from her bouquet, and place it into the buttonhole of his coat. The wrist corsage, or wristlet, has eclipsed the traditional corsage in popularity. As its name implies, the wristlet is part bracelet, part corsag.
