Step 2: Decide between a Panel or Preferred Partners or Extended Panel

- Recommended for those covered under the Enhanced IncomeShield Preferred plan which entitles you to a higher claimable amount for treatments provided by specialists or in private hospitals.
Preferred Partner

- Recommended for patients with end-stage renal disease through dialysis.Find out more.
- For selected Enhanced IncomeShield plans, receive enhanced coverage of 17 types of complications under the pregnancy and delivery-related complications benefit.
Extended Panel
- Additional benefits when you seek treatment from specialists not on Income’s panel or preferred partners lists.
Depending on the type of riders you buy, you will receive a different coverage. View a comparison of benefits here.
Step 3: Things to note
Effect of prolonged consultations
You should consider the effect of extensive treatments or prolonged consultations on the amount that you have to pay on your own after your hospitalisation as IncomeShield plans cover post-hospitalisation treatments up to a fixed number of days only, depending on your plan and riders purchased. Consultation fees and other charges that you incur after the stipulated period are not claimable.
You will enjoy extended coverage for post-hospitalisation treatment up to 365 days for the Enhanced IncomeShield Preferred Plan if your inpatient hospital treatment is provided by our Panel.
Effect of sub-limits
Sub-limits apply to IncomeShield plans that are not as charged. They are limits that put a cap on the amount of coverage for various hospital items such as, the daily room charges. This means you have to pay for charges that exceed the sub-limits which are not claimable.
Effect of deductible and co-insurance
If you have not purchased any rider, you will incur deductible and co-insurance. Depending on the type of riders that you buy, you may also need to pay a co-payment amount of up to 10%, and an additional non-panel payment of up to $2,000 if your hospital treatment is not provided by our Panel[2] or from the Extended Panel[3].
