The Benefits of Jasmine Essential Oil (1)

For its beauty, resilience, health benefits, and sweet scent, Jasmine has been used for centuries. This is my personal favorite essential oil. I love the aroma, which is sweet, yet warm and sometimes earthy. Nothing beats a deep inhalation of Jasmine to leave you feeling refreshed.

You might have heard of Jasmine through these common products: potpourri, tea, lotion, and aromatherapy. In potpourri, Jasmine is usually in a blend, but it is typically easy to differentiate because of its distinctive scent. Jasmine tea is the epitome of the old saying that tea is good for your soul, since it has an uplifting effect. Jasmine lotion is a staple in my collection. After you use Jasmine, you feel calm, relaxed, and happily content. For aromatherapy, you put a few drops of jasmine essential oils in a diffuser, which positively affects your mental health and leaves your room smelling fantastic.

Health Benefits

Jasmine is often used as an antidepressant, aphrodisiac, and sedative.

  • As an antidepressant, it leaves you feeling uplifted, calm, and positive, which assists with depression.
  • Aphrodisiacs make you feel romantic or in love. Jasmine can help put people in the mood for love and enhances the libido.
  • Jasmine as a sedative calms the mind, body, and soul. It brings out positive and constructive emotions, which helps with stress, anger, anxiety, and depression. It is also said to help with inflammation.

Jasmine has benefits that are especially helpful for women.

  • It increases milk production for nursing moms, as well as facilitates and eases labor pains. Be sure to talk to your doctor before using Jasmine during pregnancy and when nursing, since everyone is different.
  • Jasmine also helps to ease menstrual cramps and delay symptoms of menopause.

Like every essential oil, Jasmine should always be blended in a base for topical use. Jasmine is perfect to have on hand, especially when you are stressed and need a little boost.
